Yesterday my m8's grandfather passed away. They made a card for family and friends as an invitation for his cremation. There was a quote on that card and I really liked the quote so much that I'm sharing it with you. Important to say is that his grandfather had cancer and because of that struggled with his health for pretty long.

The quote was in dutch so here it is in dutch. I will try to translate it afterwards.

Sterven doe je niet ineens,
maar af en toe een beetje
en alle beetjes die je stierf,
het is vreemd, maar die vergeet je.
Het is je dikwijls zelf ontgaan,
je zegt: "Ik ben wat moe",
maar op 'n keer dan ben je
aan je laatste beetje toe.

English (trying to translate it the best I can):
You don't die a sudden death,
but you die bit by bit
and every bit's you died,
it's weird but you will forget them.
You probably didn't notice,
you're saying: "I'm a bit tired",
but there will come a day
that you meet your last bit.

Maybe theres a dutch or belgian guy here that can translate it a bit better. But well.. This pretty much touched me and because of that I'm sharing it with my virtual friends.

You do not face death suddenly,
but you are brought closer, step by step,
along the way, strange as it may seem,
you forget the course, and the path back.
Evading the truth, you claim to be a little tired,
shunning the obvious, that the time will come,
when the next repose is permanent.

This isn't a translation, but rather an interpretation. In honour of the passed away.

rest in peace, I hated it when my grandmother passed away, my dad's reaction broke my heart. what makes me feel even worse is that the day before, she came with my cousins and other distant family to visit, she cared about me alot and when she was chatting with my mom and called me over to sit on her lap, i refused and went away to play pokemon stadium with my cousins. I was 9 then, but i still wish I could get those few minutes back :(

Yeah well. I got really good contact with my grandparents (I never saw my other 2 grandparents before. They died because I was born). It's weird to see friends of you lose their grandparents when you know it could be time for your own grandparents aswel. That's maybe why this text touched me so much.
