Goddamn Deselection

How do you deselect something? I've been trying to delete a few trees but I have a doodad selected and I dont know how to deselect it, this kinda crap has been bothering me for the longest time now.

How do you deselect something to select something else

Click and drag?

Change the palette to not doodad and go back?

You can shift click to add and remove particular things from selection.

Although, why you can't just click on the new thing though?

One thing you forgot to mention: Press "Space" to switch between selecting/creating.

Or if you only want to deselect one thing you can hold shift and click the thing you want to deselect
