Like Death already pointed out, we need a frigging huge explosion when it dies and this would most likely solve the awkward decay animations as well. Since if you got a huge boom when it dies, the decay gets unnecessary.
Other than that, well done.
You may use in-game explosion animations in your map. Simply attach one or several of them to your tank unit. I know it won't be that perfect but still may solve this task until a custom explosion anim. is added to this model.

are you looking at it in the model editor, or in game?
Looks like a Baneblade with only 2 cannons.
there's event objects that kick in ingame, but not in the model editor
and i'm working on a secret more gun adding project, you wait.
and holy crap, 13? the only one's i'm missing are the demolisher an the guns on the sides, i guess you mean individual gunes, not turrets.
