I just bought a new antivirus, F-Secure. My old antivirus could be easily switched to silent mode, by right-klicking on taskbar icon.

So the question is, where do I find this switch? Because I dont want to play wc3 or search internet on slow computer, while my antivirus is scanning every file on my computer.

I have also heard that the F-Secure slows down the computer after few months. Is that true?

I found this. Sounds like bad news for you :S

Oh shit...

Raise the piority of WC3 threads to maximum. This should minimise the effect the antivirus has on your gaming experience while it is busy. Additionally, try schedualling system scans to when you are not gaming.

I have scheduled the scanning to when the system has been unused for 5 minutes. I still don't get it. A lot of antiviruses have this kind of mode.

A lot of antiviruses have this kind of mode.
It is no longer needed on modern computers seeing how they have 4 or more processors and the hard disk transfer rate is far too slow for the anti virus to ever use them considerably. Many also have new passive opperation modes where they will automaticly throttle down to give piority to another main application that is running so users do not notice them in the background (like the new disc defragmentor Vista and 7 come with).
