Story



Among the numerous mercenary clans scattering around the Peninsula, there is a unique nameless guild operated by a single assassin, who is also the one to take care of contracted jobs. This female archer is tricky, treacherous and possesses an unrivaled marksmanship, befitting her title of the Dark Ranger. The origin of the Dark Ranger is shrouded in mystery. Some say she descended from a secret tribe of female warriors to the North that worships the gods of war, while others claim she is an assassin raised from birth and her arrows had never missed ever since she knew how to use a bow.

Enemies of the Dark Ranger often find themselves being chased by a ghostly archer and incapacitated by spectral arrows that pierce their soul. Even if the Ranger is missing from sight, her arrow is as deadly as ever and the victims only hear of the whizzing sound before their lives are forfeited. Fighting among the undead masses for sole monetary purposes, her bow is ready to bring the holy warriors to their knees.

The Dark Ranger becomes etheral, increasing her movement speed. In this form, she's able to walk through units.

Gabrielle shoots a poisoned arrow that slows down the targeted unit. It deals bonus damage if the target is already affected by an arrow.

The Dark Ranger shoots an arrow at a target outside of her usual range. She takes 3 seconds to aim.

Gabrielle fires an arrow at an allied hero and instantly kills it. The energy released creates a powerful explosion that deals heavy area of effect damage to all enemy units.

For the dark rangers final ability, allied personals will get really pissed if their the one that gets shot with tha arrow and are they going to get an assist if them dieing helps kill an hero.

It is a pretty situational ability, but we believe that it is worth its money. Hero deaths are meant to occur quite often, and unlike for example DotA, aren't punished that harshly that forgetting to run away once is ruining the game. While I'm not sure whether it's implemented in the current map, the old version had an invisible bonus feature: A hero killed by Coup de Grace would have a maximal revive time of 30 seconds, instead of 60.
Sure, when you're playing a pub and someone's trying out the abiltiy on your hero with 99% health, you've got every right to feel pissed. But FBF is meant to be a team game, where you have to work together with your teammates, and that does include trusting them to use abilities like that wisely.

well i would like to be a beta tester...

i would like to test on how good you are in designing heroes.. cause as you know heroes are good not just on the look or eye candy spells but its functionality and easy-to-use-yet-not-boring-skills.

In short maybe i will suggest some hero improvements... cause as you know i made a lot of hero arena maps (mostly all of my maps)..

i can also code AI... all of my maps have AI... but i dont want to ruin your map so i wont code AI.. i am using GUI and its very ineffecient.. but if you want to have your map an AI i can talk to some of your coders for some AI techniques i can share..


Actually i have a 3 years experience in modding.. so goodluck to the team and i hope for the best..

Atm we've some trouble with JNPG because we reached a limit of ~80.000 lines of code and we can't save the map to play the game. :eekani:
The team of the "new" JNPG knows that problem and they work on a fix for it BUT atm we can only optimize our code.

That's why we're searching a specialist/expert to help us by optimize our code.
It's 100% jass/vJass. So, if you feel like helping us, please send me a PM.

FYI: It'll take a lot of time to optimize the code bit by bit. So please think about that before you contact me.

*News Update*

The map is 98% Ready for the Beta :) What a special day for me and my Team! We worked such a long time on it and now it's nearly done.

We just have to do small things and then we'll save the map for a FINAL Beta Version!

We have 5 Bots on BNet. 3 are for the All Pick Version and 2 for the All Random Version.
It's very easy to use:
Just go on our Website and take a look on the table. Copy the GameName and join your Warcraft III TFT. That's it!

The Bots are ready at the beta start! ( 23.01.2014 )

It's also possible to Download the map for guys who wants to play in a LAN or where ever. In these version the host can choose from this 2 Mods.

Story



The creation of the Magi's Guild, over a hundred years ago, became the perfect solution to the 'Forsaken problem'. The best magi all around the Regnum were, for the first time, brought together to fight the necromantic cultists that called themselves 'The Forsaken', and brought their campaign of terror to the ground with overwhelming might. Yet, that victory was not enough. The wizard Cáligo, last of The Forsaken, has returned and overcame his enemies with his vast undead army.

Belenus, the last Archmage of the Guild, survived the aftermath just like the Wizard did before. A wise but deceptive man, of order and honor, that now seeks revenge as much as he seeks knowledge on a crusade fueled by anger. But now that the Guild is no more, he feels free. Free to learn from his nemesis. Free to learn the forbidden. Free to start anew, to exchange order for chaos, honor for power, to become a master of the Dark Art. Story



The Kingdom d'Or, now home to the Forsaken, and it's elite 'Knights d'Or' proved the Regnum how a small regiment of expert warriors and tacticians could easily win when outnumbered by the peasants and militia that made up it's army, in a battle that secured the Kingdom's independence. The Regnum was then forced to make huge changes in it's military organization. One of them was the training and creation of an elite batallion of heavilly armored knights that, in the present, serve as a sort of special police and the King's personal guard. They are known as the 'Royal Knights'.

Used to bringing down rebellious nobles or dealing with simple bands of robers, Darius felt uneasy at the first sight of the Forsaken army. He was never a man of faith, but of logic and reason, and seeing such terrible creatures brought awe and fear to his heart. The way to the Forsaken's last Bastion has been long and dangerous. He became used to the smell of their black blood, hacking and slashing through their worm-infected dead flesh. But the feeling of dread, of anticipation, of a coming doom crawled deeper into his heart. Darius is ready to die, he accepts it, and although his hand will never tremble, nor will his mind know what makes his heart shrink and shiver with every step he makes.

Battle Fury:
Darius enters a state of fury and deals bonus hero damage on every hit. Bonus damage is reduced everytime he gets hit. If he reaches the maximum of bonus damage it hold on for the same period of time.

Story



An institution older than the Regnum itself, The Church of the Twin Suns preaches the word of the the Father, and lords over the work of the Mother. The religion with the most followers in the Peninsula is organized in three major groups: The Monks, represented by a pair of begging hands; The Bishops, rulers of the church represented by the Sun; and the Paladins, the disciplined and well-thaught knight-friars represented by the warhammer, as of the last centuries splintered into several orders with different political and ideological positions due to the Crown having more and more Paladins under it's command.

Son of the late Eoghan Shieldbearer and Knight Master of the Order of the Sun -the original order that united every Paladin under it's banner- Edgar has set himself with the mission of uniting all of the orders once again and declaring it's independence from the state. A daunting task he was sure he would complete, but the tragic death and ultimate revival of Edmund, his brother in blood and in arms, has weakened his will and his conviction. Duty, sadness and justice have brought Edgar to the Bastion's gates. His eyes stare into the future: the inevitable battle, the blood stained soil and the painful mission of honoring his brother's life by beating his dead corpse to a pulp.

God's Seal:
Blesses an allied unit with the seal of the Sun, reducing any damage it receives and increasing its health regeneration. The seal breaks when after receiving a certain amount of damage, hurting enemy units around by the same amount of damage received. If the seal is not broken, it will heal all allied units around the target for 50% of the base regeneration. And if the target receives lethal damage, the seal will block it. It expires after 9 seconds or when broken.

Star Impact:
Edgar calls down a Falling Star that, on impact, damages and stuns all enemy units, and splits into several smaller stars that deal less damage. The Star takes 1.5 seconds to summon.

Holy Strike:
The Paladin enchances his mace with holy power, causing his next attack to deal bonus percentage magic damage to enemies around the target. Holy Strike will be activated automatically once the cooldown is over.

Holy Cross:
The Paladin creates a Holy Cross at the target location. Enemies that enter the Cross will be silenced for 2 seconds and will receive damage over time if they stay too long. Allies will receive less damage and an increased life regeneration. The cross lasts 7.5 seconds.

Story



"The man with true power" is what people calll the King, but ever since the creation of the Regnum, the Crown has been contending the Nobility for the real "true power" , as they fight each other even over the most meaningless of things. Ironically, this age-long rivalry has maintained a political balance. In the Regnum, anyone who owns a piece of land is considered a nobleman, yet there are very few and rarely do they share or give away their property. And just like the King, they need a court of advisors to rule such pieces of land.

Joos Ignis is a courtsman to one of the Regnum's Lords. He is his most trusted servant, his right hand, and also a former member of the Magi's Guild and, as such, a powerful magician himself. At his peak, he was a master magician, unbeatable and cunning. His specialised in offensive magic and became the title of Firelord for his supreme control over the Fire element. The title became a part of him even as he drifted from his studies in the Guild to politics and diplomacy. Joos' cunning in this field is as strong as his cunning in battle, and he's respected by politicians as much as he's respected by all magi for his gifts. Acting as his Lord's main advisor and personal bodyguard, he has earned his trust. That of an old heirless noble, father only to the most prized bride-to-be who's ready to open her heart only to one man, Joos. But his Lord demands proof of his honour, something he can only get fighting in the warfront, facing death for the realm and the woman he's fallen for. He must return bearing the scars of countless battles, a proof of his courage and nobility, or not return at all.

Fire Blast:
The Blood Mage launches a Fire Blast that spits smaller fireballs at the closest enemy unit. When the Blast lands, it fires one last wave of fireballs at all nearby enemies.

The Fire Master encourages an ally unit to increase it's damage output by 35% and reduce it's damage received by 50%. Alternatively, Joos intimidates an enemy unit to reduce it's damage output by 20% and increase it's damage received by 30%. The buff lasts for 15 seconds.

FireLord Ignos covers himself with fire. Attacking enemies are hurt by a portion of the damage they deal to Ignos over a short period of time.

Joos Ignos proves he's a master of magic by summoning a raging Storm of fire that damages his enemies. The Storm lasts for 6 seconds.

Nothing much to say but good luck and hoping for the BETA soon. Anyway, the heroes are great and their spells are based on their specific role which is great.

You have a typo though at Animal War Training: should be faster instead of fater.

Forsaken: Bastion's Fall First Beta starts today!
After a small hiccup of the hostbots the last days, we are still on schedule and proud to announce that our map is now being hosted for the beta. Currently, there is one bot available, but we will bring four more online soon, for a total of three bots running the game in All Pick mode, and two for All Random. The status of the hostbots and the game names can be found on our homepage. Look in the table, copy the game name into TFT and join the game. The map starts automatically once the lobby is full.
Due to some technical limitations, you need to download the -ap and -ar version of the map separately. The map without the mode set is available for download from our website, in case you want to play it with your friends.
While we of course will see feedback posted here on hive, it would be infinitely more useful to us if you posted it over in our forums, in the appropriate threads. That helps us to keep the overview and fix the important things faster.
Playing with the Devs
Unfortunatly, most of the FBF team do not have enough time to join the Beta test, but I will try to participate regularly. If there are enough people interested, I will host the map privately. Otherwise, you might stumble over me in a public game. The time I'd be available would be European evening (say, 19:00 UTC til 0:00 UTC), and I'll try to be in the Hive workshop chat during that time so you can contact me there.

Other than that, have fun and don't forget to report bugs and grievances about the balance!

Yeah! We know that :( - The problem is the bot itself. Our bots are hosted by Ghost++ on a private server. The guys from "living-bots.net" made it possible to get their games on the list. We never see our hosted game and thats why nobody joins the game.
We're working on it BUT for the moment we can't change the situation.

I uploaded the "All Pick" Version to "makemehost.com". They have fast servers too and so it's possible to get a full game.

Bug-Info: We tested the game with 4v4 and atm there's a big balance problem we have to fix. So it's better to test the map with max. 3v3 or you can forget to play the game :)

I couldn't realy test it until now. Single player is a little bit boring and buggy. For the forsaken site, one never has enough resources to build a lot and if you play on the alliance site the timers for spawns run out but nothing happens.

So maybe we are able to test this map on the funmap evening today.

Yeah, the game is not made for playing alone. Well, atm I am in negotiation with "makemehost.com". Maybe they can host one game for us. They have faster hostbots then we have.

For the moment, you have to make dates for playing the game. I can't change the situation now. We can't play too :(

next things that should change are, that heroes AND the spider cant enter the tower defense area, and the spider itself should be changed a bit, it doesnt lose the aggro, even if the hero who has the aggro of it goes back to base(the spider is unkillable in the first 10 waves if u play with only 1-2 heroes)
another thing should be a little tutorial for the forsaken site, because i didnt read anthing about tower building and where exactly(there is a big black area where u have the place to build towers and the building menu says u can build there, but it doesnt get builds there, so it should be unbuildable)


all in all a good map, worth it to follow its development;)

We'll check this too. The Spider is strong - no question. She's one the "mini" Bosses and her HP+DMG is fix! Fix in this way because you have to play the game with 6v6 and not 1v1 or 2v2 players.
We'll think about a solution for that problem. Maybe we'll support if some games are not in a full house constellation.

I think the best way is to create a small "Tutorial" for both sides... a little "The first five minutes or something like this".
For the moment i can only give you the following instruction hint:

As Forsaken Players:

  1. Choose your Hero
  2. Buy some items in the three shops in your base
  3. Start building towers on your lane ( your lane is where you get the acolyt )
  4. Leave the base with your herp by using the Teleporter and wait for the coming creeps
  5. Kill all coalition units and defend the "Forsaken Heart", which is placed in the top right corner

As Coalition Players:

  1. Choose your Hero
  2. Buy some items in the three shops in your base
  3. Leave the base with your hero by using the Teleporter and wait for the coming creeps ( DO NOT USE THE WAY OF THE TOWER DEFENSE!!! )
  4. There's a unit shop where you can buy units to support the creeps ( the shop you can find if you leave the base. It's a small unit in the circle - everyone has one! )
  5. Kill all forsaken units and destroy the "Forsaken Heart", which is placed in the top right corner
