[General] Fog of war/ Black mask/ Minimap?

I know what fog of war is but I'm not quite sure what blackmask is?

I'm trying to make a Dungeon Crawler type map atm and I want when the player moves around with the camera he'll only see blackness.

Also how can I make the minimap black as well so that only the explorered area is shown?
