Well, recently, I've been playing a game called Global Agenda which had plenty of trolls.
They argued over what was the first MMO game.
Some of the trolls said WoW was the first MMO game.
Others claimed Zelda.
(MMO means Massively Multiplayer Online Game)
Well, do you guys have any ideas what's the first MMO game?

(Off-topic: And those trolls say Alienware crap stuff, crazy trolls.)

The first commercial MMORPG (although what constitutes "massive" requires qualification when discussing mid-1980s mainframes) was Island of Kesmai designed by Kelton Flinn and John Taylor. Still roguelike, this game became available in 1985 for $12.00 per hour via the CompuServe online service and supported up to one hundred players.[15]

Weird, those trolls didn't mentioned about this and only talked about WoW being the best game, and first MMO.
I'm not sure about wikipedia because wikipedia can be edited :|

Clearly WoW. The other hundreds of MMO games that came before it don't count, since WoW is the greatest game and I literally play it 24/7, without sleeping, drinking, or eating, for the past 4 years.

Sounds sarcastic and sounds like you're trolling.

Ultima Online? It pretty much defined MMORPG. Then Tibia was released shortly after, as well as Run! Escape. I think that sums up the earliest well-known successes within MMOs. World of Warcraft is far out.

Come on, you can't be serious that you believed that WoW was the first MMO? Ragnarok comes in my mind first, which was before WoW which means it isn't the first MMO. And no, it isn't the best, I hate how you can kill Arthas over and over again >.>

Yeah and then only one guys would get the loot.

Sounds like a bad idea. MMO has its own downsides compared to SP-RPGs.

According to Wiki, Ultima Online coined the term MMO so I'd go with that as the first, since the ones before it are arguable.

Oh and, runescape? I heard it was pretty old because of it's ugly graphics.
Even Ultima Online has better graphics though it was developed in 1997.

It goes 1997 Ultima Online, 1998 Tibia, 2001 Run! Escape.

Ultima series:
Ultima I: The First Age of Darkness (1981) Ultima II: The Revenge of the Enchantress (1982)
Ultima III: Exodus (1983)
Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar (1985)
Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny (1988)
Ultima VI: The False Prophet (1990)
Ultima VII: The Black Gate (1992)
Ultima VII Part Two: Serpent Isle (1993)
Ultima VIII: Pagan (1994)
Ultima Online (1997) (SPINOFF MMORPG)
Ultima IX: Ascension (1999)

As you can see Ultima is a base for RPG and ORPG

but was Ultima Online really the first?
http://mmohuts.com/editorials/the-first-mmorpg
The answer is Neverwinter Nights (1991)

And there you go

Wow what the hell, im surprised no one said anything about Everquest, to me that was the basic design for all the MMO's featured today like WOW, Guildwars, Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Etc.

Every1 just seemed to copy them
