Myladies, Gentlemen,

A small problem: I try at the moment to merge my models to reduce map size.

I also wanted to rework UV Maping of one model.

But the file size has be increased with incredible amount of kilobits, whereas I still use ingame textures.

More, the changes I made on the model use less verticles, but it still takes more kb.

What causes this?

Thanks a lot,

You could search for useless Geosets, Bones or other parts of the model via its MDL file.
If you have a backup of your model somewhere, use it to recreate the changes you made and see if it still increases filesize. If you don't have one, keep one from now on so you can always go back if changes don't turn out the way you want them to.

Christ. i dont know what program you used to edit it. but it really F-ed up your model. If you go into magos and compare the two with the EDIT>MODEL INFO. you can see that the first one has 3007verticies and 2087faces while the "new" one has 14253verts and 5969faces. So whatever you did, you basically exponentially multiplied all your geoset data.

Your legs alone take up about 8000v and 3000f respectively. I would suggest redoing the entire thing. All of it is so haphazard and sloppy and nothing matches together nicely. the particles are smudgy and need lots of work. and the shoulder nob and thighs are missing endcaps. the uv wrap is stretched and it just looks like a bunch of boxes all glued together. sorry if i sound mean. but i think being honest is more helpful then beating around the bush. i just dont think this sort of thing would get approved. especially with the filesize
