fade filters that display for a single player

yeah, im aware of this question being asked several times now:
how would you display a fade filter that shows for a single player?

i searched the forums only to find random jass scripts that i had no idea how to manipulate

Did you try local player? You can make it on GUI if you use WEU.

1. no, i did not try local player because i have no idea what that is
2. i tried downloading WEU but it was corrupted or something

You can't do it in WE without jass so.
Search in tutorials or in other threads in this forum about local player.
