I really think you should consider adding something unique to the mix. There's too many generic RPGs already out there, and most of them have at least some unique features or a well-conceived storyline. Do you at least plan to include unique hero classes?

Some fairly simple features that you might want to include could be...

• A merit system where you earn merit points (lumber) from quests or minigames and can use them to purchase specialty items when you collect enough

• Classes that work well together such as an elemental mage casting an ice spell and a monk class dealing more damage when he uses a fire punch skill on the target frozen by the mage

• Day/Night effects that cause different types of enemies to spawn depending on what time of the day it is

• A storyline that ties each class into it like a soldier belonging to the military working under the king, a barbarian who escaped the king's prison, etc.

Get creative and have fun with it. It'll make your RPG stand out more
