enabled attacks dont work? item not work right?

I have it set up so that my heroes, until they choose their starting item, have no attack. but once you choose the item, it enables the attack, (using orb effects, lightning/fire ect.) but the stats screen, a blank spot pops up where it should show attack type and damage, if I enable attack one or two, doesnt make a difference (attack 2 for ranged, and attack 1 for melee)

also, some items when used give you abilities, and some of theses items require either specific races, or specific starter items. the ones that have multiple possible users, pop into and out of inventory, where as the ones that have only one item or unit choose work perfectly.

ive only used one or two jass things in previous maps i have made, and its been a few years since i have, so I dont remember any jass commands. But if you know any triggers that could make these work, I would forever be grateful

oh yes and some of the items, if you keep trying to pick it up, and your have the requirements, eventually you will hold the item, and some of them, currently only one, you can eventually pick it up without the requirements.

and if it helps, im running the jass newgen pack 5d thing, with the UMS, because of all the extra stuff it gives, including all the extra tiles, trigger stuffs,abilities and such...and my map is much larger than a normal wc3 max map size, which i love.
