I'm thinking of making a map based on the Draenei but im not sure of there background. What is there homeland? Is it the outland or is it somewhere else. Im not completely sure. Sorry if i should have asked this question somewhere else.

Here's the draenei's story up until the beginning of WoW:The Burning Crusade.

Their homeworld is Argus, where they were known as the Eredar until Sargeras came and corrupted Archimonde and Kil'Jaeden. Velen fled with the Naaru within Oshu'gun which crashed into Draenor.

The orcs and the draenei ("exiled ones") became friends until Kil'Jaeden arrived years later and corrupted nearly all the orc clans. The Draenei retreated from the Temple of Karabor (Black Temple), Shattrath City, and many of their other abodes to strongholds of the naaru like Tempest Keep or to hidden lands like Zangarmarsh. Many draenei devolved into the broken and the lost ones. Decades passed until Ner'zhul's portals ripped Draenor apart creating Outland.

The Ashtongue (Akama's draenei) remained hidden until the day Magtheridon arrived. This upstart pit lord rallied the remaining orcs and summoned countless scores of demons through the dimensional gates across Outland. Akama and his broken fought for months until help arrived in the form of the Betrayer, Illidan. Illidan's forces and Akama's draenei destroyed Magtheridon's forces and invaded the Black Temple imprisoning him within the Hellfire Citadel.

About 5 years after Illidan's coming, blood elves loyal to the treacherous Kael'thas raided Tempest Keep, imprisoning the lone naaru within and taking over the entire keep except for the Exodar. The draenei aboard the Exodar soon crashed into Azeroth's Azuremyst Isles. Soon after their arrival an Alliance fleet welcomed them wishing for peace and help against the draenei's old foes, the orcs.

Accually Im planning on doing this map solo. I might ask for ideas every so offtend and I might request that a modle or two could be made other wise I'd rather do stuff alone so if I end up dropping the idea (which I dont plan to for this one) I dont waist anyones time. Thanks anyway though.

but going back to the map I would like to make the story take place a little while after Arthas becomes the lich king. I want to have the one of the remaining groups of draenei, the broken, back in there homeland and working up a ressistance against Kil'Jaeden and his orc and demon minions. But Im not sure what kind of terrain Argus had. I looked around for images maybe from WoW but I couldn't find any. If anyone knows the terrain type or has ideas of what it could have been that would help a lot.

According to WowWiki Argus was apparently a utopian world (when the draenei were there). It probably is still but with a more demonic feel. It is likely that the capital of Argus (and maybe even the capital of the Burning Legion) is Mac'Aree, the most sacred city on Argus. I'm guessing it would be heavily fortified, heavily military aligned, and have slaves from the Legion's many conquered worlds.

Probably Outland and Black Citadel terrain.
