Its not any worse then WoW, or many other games out there. Sure, its addicting, and to some people it can be bad, but theres many other things worse then it IMO.

I can see how dota can be fun, and addicting, But I don’t play it myself. Then again I'm only allowed to play 3 hours a week of anything, so maybe if I was allowed to play more, I would play dota sometimes.

People always try to point the blame too much at a certain thing, Like blaming bad things teenagers do on TV games. Im sure TV games didn't help at all, But it sounds like they are just trying to blame something for their lack of disciplining their children.. As for dota itself, its very popular, But around my place, not everybodys playing 12 hours of it at all, or anything. Maybe it is worse around that place..

Back on topic, I read the article and the writer is correct. It's sometimes bad and sometimes good. Nothing more than it. It keeps boring after 2nd or 3rd match. So I personally call it a con. It's not getting any funny either. Just some funny bugs or glitches makes me laugh. That's all.

Yeah, it's a huge shame indeed. I've even seen some softwares are making games based on Dota. How pathetic. I think it was Ubisoft. I saw it on youtube, showing some chinese people fighting on exactly dota's map.

How many AoS maps have you played? It's not an awful map, it's just not nearly as good as others.

Items make heroes. Now this isn't a huge deal if you do it right. But DotA does it wrong. They simply make it so that damage is all that matters late game. Spells are only good if they help you do more damage to people (like slows, stuns, blockers, damage +, ect). People buy all the same stuff it seems to me.

Spells are not really that cool. Each hero gets maybe one or two cool original spells. Too many are just regular wc3 spells. I really like custom ones.

You can't make tanks. They suck.

DotA is ok. But it is for Warcraft players, not lovers (it can be also for an Wacraft player and lover, but it isn't what happens)



A guy who only plays DotA is the easier example of Warcraft player that you can find. A Warcraft player only wants the game to fill his idle time, his boredom. Anything else.



However, you can play DotA and still love Warcraft, obviously. But the problem is that the DotA's system can easily make an addict from a weak mind.

I used to play DotA at least 3 times per month. And I see no problem with it.

In my opinion, it's the best AoS ever created. Spells are amazing, the items are balanced, the heroes are balanced well enough, and there is more than one map.

There are so many unique and amazing things about EotA.

In my opinion, it's the best AoS ever created. Spells are amazing, the items are balanced, the heroes are balanced well enough, and there is more than one map.

There are so many unique and amazing things about EotA.

I don't know...Dota isn't that good, but it's not that bad either. I believe that most dota haters hate it because it isn't a good map, yet it has huge success. Personally I don't hate it, I don't like it either, but I can play it here and there. I know it is unbalanced, and it is true that late game only spells such as stuns, slows, etc matter(if that), but still, up to level 10-15 I find it a fun game. There are better AoS, but dota isn't all crap.

Darnyak was a bit of an idiot for naming his Eve of the Apocalypse, but it's an entirely different AoS. Play it and you will understand. Even if you don't like it, you will admit that it's head and shoulders above DotA trigger and content wise. No DotA spell maker has anything on Darnyak.

People are a problem, but I could cope with that. The game is the problem. As I've said before, it doesn't suck, it's just not that great. I'd rather play Tides Of Blood... which also needs a lot of work.
