Does Resistant Skin add any privileges to a Hero?

Hello guys, If we add the spell Resistant Skin to a hero what kind of privileges and enhancements does that add to the hero?

I am also somewhat curious as being a hero already grants the bonuses of resistant skin, that I am aware of anyway.

No, all resistant skin does is have the unit be targeted as a hero by spells. It makes no difference if you give it to heroes, since they are already targeted as heroes.
