Disabling 8MB limit via editing the MPQ

Hi guys,

As the title says, is this possible at all?

Ive already downloaded a MPQ editor, but i have no idea where to begin or if its even do-able.

the size restriction is set to the core, to battle.net, you cannot remove it or increase it

How TriggerHappy is doing it, he is making MMO-like style making the game singleplayer, and when the map loads you connect to server, allowing you to play 100 MB maps on internet, because you theoretically play single player

yes but that has also some cons, if you create map with the modified mpq in mind, you have to send it to people togethr with the map

If you modify your own mpq, you make local changes, so your footman will look cooler, but only you will see him looking cooler, because others have the old models of footman in their mpq archives

well pretty much, because it stores textures and default values from the object editor pretty much, just in some a bit encrypted way I believe, its basically a encrypted rar with data native data for game, so you cant do too much with that
