detect moonwell usage

i want to detect when a unit right clicks a moon well and it gives him mana so that i can cancel that and apply a custom effect

it doesn't seem that triggers would detect the well as being given an order or casting an ability at the unit. what the fuck man.

Does the trigger deal with the ordered unit or the target of the order of the ordered unit?

Very strange, I just fooled around with it also, and I cannot seem to find anytime where the moonwell is given any type of order or told to use its ability.

Even if you add a cooldown it will not trigger the cooldown via right click, only by manually casting does the cooldown start. However, if it is already on cooldown right clicking will not cause the heal to happen.

You could potentially trigger it rather than using the default ability by catching when a unit is ordered to move/smart onto your moonwell then track the distance between the unit and the moonwell, when it is close enough. You simply order the unit to stop, remove mana from the moonwell, and restore hp/mp to the unit.

Have you tried building the trigger around the ordered unit with the condition that the ordered unit is issued a unit order, and the unit-type of the target of order is a moon-well? Try debug messages that will fire the moment when a unit is issued an order.
