Defense of the Ancients : Icy River

As you can understand from the name the project inspired from one of the most popular map of Warcraft 3, DotA by Icefrog.But the biggest diffrence is the snowy lands As you know there is 2 army, Sentinel and Scourge.One of my friends had given me and idea so I started doing this map.At the first version of the map there are total of 2 tavers and 32 heroes.But Its really poor about the Items.The abilities arent enough for 32 diffrent heroes as you can guessBut there are no any other problems except them.

Obviously, a map like dota can't be done by just one person.

Yeah i will try .This is another version of DotA as you said.I just want to design my own map and my own characters.My aim isnt to be as popular as Icefrog's DotA and i cant . Like every single day we were at shool with my friends.We were talking about map editing, making heroes etc. and i started to do a map which includes some of my classmates.Making this map will improve my editing skils.I will add some SS soon.Thanks.

hehe making maps with schoolmates is REALLY difficult I make a LotR campaign with a friend of mine at the moment, but he can't even programm in GUI. It's really stressy to explain everything to him... I hope your mates CAN program in GUI

Well anyways if your making another DoTA will you atleast add something unique the un-relates it from the regular DoTA?

2. Many people will say "hey, this isnt DotA, GTFO" and leave when they play your map

If you make this map, please balance it more than the people who made dota did.
Also make items take a back seat to the hero development? Just a suggestion though.

The idea is OK but what's up with the portrait?

Also, vary the creeps, I'm tired of druids of the talon and treants and ghouls and crap.

• Instead of Druids of the Talon, spawn Archers
• Instead of Ghouls, spawn Skeleton Warriors
• Instead of Necromancers, spawn Skeletal Archers

That would create an issue with the corpses, but in my opinion switching races makes it slightly more original.

Now i dont mean to be rude but if u want to do a map then be more creative and dont just copy another one. It would be much more fun if you could do your own map, just be creative and show others and first to yourself that u can do something more then just copy a map. Now, by this i hope that u dont understand that i dont like DOTA, it's a good map, but trust me when i say that people wont want to see another DOTA map
