Dead Space problem!

OK, from since the first time I started playing Dead Space, I have a HUGE irritating problem: every sound, word, EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN HEAR in the game plays twice! Like: "Bang--Bang!" My (really horrible) specs are:
-Intel Celeron 2.53 MHz
-GeForce 6200
-1.5 GB RAM
Game has 30 FPS at Medium details, so it's playable, but this sound sh*t makes me go mad! Can anyone help?

I would, but it's not an echo, it's more like a stuttering voice.

It could be your sound acceleration, not sure exactly what.

Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Speaker settings -> Advanced... button -> Click on the Performance tab and drag the cube at Hardware Acceleration to None.
