Dark Lightnings?

I made this spell:
Grapple

it's like the hook from some goblin at dota
or like the morning star of zelda
the hero shoots a morning star towards target point the rest doesn't matter
a chain connects the morning star and the caster
unfortunately the chain is too bright for my taste so I decided to make it darker but the darker I am making the chain the more transparent it becomes
is it possible to fix it?

//don't know if the time is right cause i forgot how late it is at where the hiveservers are standing but i bet it's not possible to make dark lightnings anyway ......
