Yo dudes. I've been working on a Warcraft II revival project and I was wondering if anyone could try to recreate the models of the trees from the Warcraft III beta. I've searched around the entire sight and I was surprised that no one has done it before.
Here's a screenshot:

It's pretty much a grouping of several trees, but instead of them having a trunk for each individual tree model, it's a single shape with trunk textures on it. It's to make the trees appear smaller, but still have the same collision detection.
As far as the death animation goes, I guess just have them all sink beneath the ground together. Either that, or have each tree disperse outward as they fall.
If it's possible it would also be cool if the model had a ground texture, similar to the ground textures buildings have.
You can see in this screenshot the trees have dirt underneath them. It's not needed in the model, I can go without it.
