Hello guys,

I'm new around and I have been looking to solve this problem that is really making me go crazy! :ogre_rage:

What I want to do is pretty simple, I want to take an already made map and modify it to my needs.

I have already did this 2 years ago (with Windows XP Service Pack 3) but now that I have Windows 7 Home Premium this compiling errors keep showing off and I can't find a thread anywhere that can explain me how to fix this!:goblin_jawdrop::goblin_cry:

I have reinstalled the game 3 times, I have used the compatibility of Windows XP Service Pack 2 & 3. I also opened it as administrator but there still I can't see why these errors are still showing up. :goblin_boom:

I hope that you guys can help me out with this.

....

Ok I can't upload the pic I don't know how to do it... Any way, here are the compiling error that it shows:

First window: Unable to save file 'C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\Mis mapas\(2)BootyBay.w3m

Compiling Error: Invalid number of arguments (76 compiling errors)

If you can help me out how to post the image i think it will be way much easier...

Thanks!

EDIT: Here are the images.

You can open the map but you can't save it? I doubt it has anything to do with your operation system.

Do you use the standard WCIII world editor that comes up with the game or did you download and use a custom one?
Do you have the game updated to the latest version?

I can open any map I have, but at the moment to save it (with another name and in other folder that is inside the map folder) these compiling errors shows up.

The game is fully updated and I'm using the original World Editor.

What really bugs me is the fact that I could modify 2 years ago and now I can't!

To upload a picture, first save the map so the error appears. Press "Print Screen", then press Ctrl+C. Open up paint. Press Ctrl + V. The image should appear.

Use the select tool (usually a rectangle with dashed lines) to select the part that is relevant (the actual errors). Then find the button for cropping. File -> Save As and title it whatever you want.

Then in your post, look for the option "Manage Attachments" and upload the image.

If you post an image, it will help a lot.

Thank you, the images are now in the thread.

Does this happen with every map you open and try to save or only with the BootyBay map?

Yes, on every map that I am using to make minimal changes appear these compile errors.

The bigger the map, more compiling errors appear.

Even worse, I do not modify the map just to see if it saves correctly (in another folder) and still the errors appear.

Ah, the decimal point error...

I don't think anyone found a fix for that

(Your OS uses , for decimal but wc3 uses that for # of args so it thinks its getting too many args)

Do I have to downgrade to XP to modify maps?
What if I change my regional configuration?

You don't have to downgrade.

You should be able to change your regional configuration.

http://www.monash.edu.au/policy/gpcommapnt.htm said:
1. Open Regional and Language Options
2. Under "Format" pick another regional setting (eg: English (United States)).
3. Press "Apply"
4. Under "Format" pick your original desired locale (ie: Finnish)).
5. Press OK.

Fiddle with that and I assume it should get rid of the problem.
