Creating units in formation

If it's just for a cinematic, a common practice is to preplace them on the map, hide them during gameplay and unhide them when the cinematic plays, that way they'll be exactly how you want them to
I'm trying something like that, although my attempt is with destructible with no collision. It doesn't like the placing multiple at once, like with trees.

EDIT: I made units from tree wall and they show in the editor but when I open the game, they're not visible.

Nvm, I think the "model has lightweight" option was the problem.

Chaosium's way is probably best. Another option is to add the units to a unit group and then to issue a group order towards a point. That way they'll form a wc3-like formation. However, you don't have much control over how they form and you may need to wait for them to complete the order and reach the location lol.

I made them pre-placed destructible that can be hidden and unhidden.
