Hi all. I'm having trouble with a couple of things. I'm trying to add elves back into the human tech tree. So, I've added archers (instead of riflemen) and the Ranger Hero instead of the Blood Mage. Now, I've successfully positioned the proper upgrades and changed the tooltips (borrowing heavily from the Night Elves) and all that. The thing with the ranger though is that I cannot figure out how to make the game recognize her as a UNIQUE hero. First I just changed what units could be summoned through the Altar. That just let you make as many as you wanted of her. Also, she didn't use up the tier 1 hero slot (I could still summon another hero for tier 1, assuming I had the money). So, I thought I'd try completely converting the Bloodmage into Sylvannus. Same result. Which is really confusing since all the changes to the Bloodmage were cosmetic except for ability scores, abilities and attack range. Things like that. Whew. So that's my first issue. The other issue, and this is probably a little more involved, is how to get the AI to utilize custom upgrades and units. For example, my computer-controlled ally wouldn't train and use my fancy new human archer units. Any way I can trick the AI into using the archers (maybe convert riflemen into archers)? Also, when I give the computer a campaign hero (Thrall, Cairne, etc) it never utilizes said unit offensively. Just sits there until attacked. Sigh. Anyways sorry to prattle on and on. Hopefully someone will be able to help me out. Thanks all.

I think you change something in the gameplay constants. There should be a field where you can add heroes. After doing that she should be unique.

I don't know much about AI but changing the soldier into a archer should work.

If you want the computer to use your custom heroes you can change the existing heroes into new ones.

Great, thanks guys. I'll give that a shot. Any thoughts on how to change her position in the altar's menu? She ends up in the upper left corner for some reason. Not a big deal, I'm just picky ;). Thanks again.
