[Solved] cooldown beginning during casting time

normally when a spell has casting time, the cooldown of the spell sets in right when the casting time is over and the spell sets in, right?
how can i make that the cooldown allready starts when the casting time begins?

You can't, not without any manual touches. You will have to simulate the casting time with some sort of pausing action.

well what i would suggest
is to make a dummy unit and use it to cast to the ability instead of ur unit
and order ur unit to stop
this way the dummy will be casting the ability and ur hero's ability cooldown starts fast

Doing that also means that there is no longer a casting time.

You could use Channel as the base ability and trigger the effects.

Let the cooldown start normally. Add some follow through timer. Make the effects start after a time interval.

When Nevermore starts channeling its spell, the countdown for cooldown doesn't even start yet, but when Crixalis starts its ultimate, the countdown for the cooldown starts immediately
I always wonder how to do this, and now I understood

i did it by using bloodmages flamestrike as base ability
the event for the actions was "unit finishes channeling an ability" or whatever it is called in english
