The title says it all. Most tracks are bland, except some tracked composed by Michiel such as UNATCO, Duclare Chateau, Lebedev, and Area 51 Bunker. Have a look at the original and the remixed main theme, the quality is decreased:

Not very different though.
I am sure you will find remixes of 'The Synapse' (Deus Ex) different.
Original 'The Synapse' by Alexander Brandon (2000):
Siren Synapse Remix by Alexander Brandon and Big Giant Circles (2009):
Synapse Awake Remix by Alexander Brandon (2020):

@Power107 the first video in the main post is not available anymore.
Thanks, I have updated the post.
Remastered (it's more of a compilation from the first C&C games). Although more real instruments, I prefer the original. You can't just replace a saxophone with an electric guitar and hope to get away with it:
tbh for some reason, video game composers like Frank Klepacki and Alexander Brandon are no longer as good as they were in the 1990s
Maybe modern DAWs are harder to use? I don't know why their newer works arent that much good.

To be honest, I haven't listened to anything new from them. Remasters/remakes aren't really something new so I won't take those into consideration.
Frank Klepacki even had some solo albums and if I'm not mistaken Alexander Brandon as well or was it with Michiel van den Bos?

Yes, Brandon had an album called 'Just Fun' in 2016. It was good but I found it less engaging than the soundtracks of UT99 and Deus Ex which were crafted with the tracker.

Haven't listed to it. Maybe the idea was to try something different? Also, since you're not having visuals and gameplay along with it, maybe the feeling of just listening is tad different?

Basically every main menu theme for World of Warcraft is a remake/medley/mix of the original but I think only that of the Burning Crusade is actually a worthy adaptation:
My top WoW main main menu theme list:
1) Cata (The vocals at the end are outstanding)
2) TBC
3) Wotlk (The Call To Arms version at the end is cool)
4) Vanilla
5) Legion (The Anduin Theme makes it one of the best WoW main themes)
You may also like to listen to the sc2 main theme which builds upon the main theme of SC1:

I like the original much more. Some compositions are just not supposed to be remixed.
Do you mean the original 'ONS01'? If yes then let me tell you 1 thing: UT3 composers were not ideal. Epic should have hired Kevin, Bos, and Brandon to compose music for UT3.

I think they didn't like Kevin Riepl's demos. You can find them around, especially on his site if he still has them there.

Either Jesper Kyd and Rom di Prisco got really lazy or were "fans" of those specific remixed compositions or Epic Games took a downward artistic direction. I'm more inclined to give a higher probability to the latter.

If you want an upgrade then you may find this one better:
Yeah, it sounds nice.

Look what I've seen:

Look what I've seen:
Now deepstrasz is a detective like Agent 007 aka James Bond.
The UT3 demos you shared on my profile were good, I hope you will also like this one:
It is basically a remix of 3 tracks from UT99--

@Power107 that original Necros & Khyron composition is amazing. Was it composed for an UT map?
No, it was a stand-alone track but Epic Games could have used it for UT and Unreal just like they commissioned Mech8 and Isotoxin. Yes, Mechanism 8 was not composed for UT, it was just a demo track.
Basically a compilation of reorchestrated tracks from Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, StarCraft and StarCraft II as well as Diablo III.
It's a great album. I am sure you will also like some bonus remixes from this album which I think are not in the video:

Tbh that's how the music made with tracker mostly sounds to me. Just like 8-bit songs, tracker songs have their own unique soul and style.
Yeah, there was a site of a composer called Eliran Ben Ishai (DNA-Groove) that was shut down and it had loads of such compositions.

I still like the original Laboratory theme to be honest. That game has amazing music.

Last part of that to:
