Hello, when i added Cleaving Attack (passive spell) to Ancient Protector and unrooted him, cleaving attack isnt working, how can i make it work?
Thank you

I don't know the exact answer, but might be possible to point in the right direction.

Some abilities exist on ancients when they are uprooted (eat tree, auras). You can try to see what is so different about them and possibly test a variety of units to see what it's about.

Its not alone a melee/range issue. Yes, ranged units can not use cleave. But the root ability only lets you have very specific abilities.

If a added ability (etc. Shield Block [Human]) it works even when is treant unrooted. So?

If you find enough abilities that work, then you can look at them in object editor to determine why they work. It could be a lack of cooldown, or lack of mana cost, or anything. To know you can test it.
It might also be that some abilities are simply hardcoded to not be lost.
Or it might be that UnitMakeAbilityPermanent helps.
