Surprisingly cool thingy. Can make camps and cities much more alive.

Does it share bone names and structure with default Footman, or you added more bones? I wanna steal for custom units in my campaign that use Footman animations :].
It's the same, but some details need to be adjusted on your own.

you guys should get out of my head what the heck? i was thinking about cinematic footman and here it is! im glad im not the only one who thought "hey what if we go crazy with animation on work on vanilla models?" im so happy to see walking units finally.

one thing that made HD stand out is the abundance of cinematic animations allowing for a better cinematic experience , now with retra model studio i think we can bring a new age a revolution to the cinematography in warcraft 3 through talent , skill , and letting our imagination go wild we can produce so many animations that help bring warcraft 3 cutscenes to a new level.

the ideas i have are so many few i can bring up right now is footmen with no weapons or shield he just goes around punching stuff , another very dope and something i would love to see is grunts wielding their axes with 2 hands as a throwback to the way grunts fought in wc1 now the only lore reason i could think of why two handed style of fighting was scrapped was due to it leaving the combatant more open to counter attack by the enemy or it took too long to train soldiers with it so they just decided with the one handed way.


other ideas are footmen putting their sword in its holster and just walking around with their shield in their hand only a "morph" animation here can be made for them to take the sword out , another cool animation i thought of is the paladin places his hammer on the ground by placing its head on the ground that is , and then opening his book and reading it as an idle animation it would work , the acolyte can have animation that conceals his dagger , a melee troll has been lacking for so long why not animate the headhunter to use his spears in melee combat? , you can have animations like a ghoul coming to consciousness and looking at his reflection causing him a mental breakdown or something where he covers his head with his claws.

a knight that his his lance in attack instead of only sword , reforged addressed this so why not bring it to SD , a rifleman with a bayonet is possible too? another rifleman animation could be him placing his weapon in a vertical way with one hand while he looks around.

you can also add wounded animations for footmen , grunts , archers etc would service some cinematics pretty well you can also do like age of mythology and add dead units as a thing as a doodad maybe where a footmen has a unique dead animation or multiple dead poses.

heck u can do a bit with the gore side too , a footman losing his head and a blood fountain streams from where his head was , a grunt might lose his arm etc.

you get the point this can pave the road for something much greater.

Interesting ideas, I will consider to add them later. With RMS it is definitely possible to add few new animations, it's what I was working on.

the new model is canon i think it was stated somewhere (probably wc3 manual) that archmagi did fight with sword.
Guess the point of Sorceresses is to =/=archmage.
But yes, the manual says this about Archmagi:
"Mounted atop their trusty unicorn steeds, the Archmagi brandish magical blades and ancient staves that serve to channel their fierce energies in battle."
Funny thing is they (models ingame) don't even have a blade to use.

Also, Gandalf for the win!

now they do carry a blade call blizzard to replace that model with this one for lore accuracy :xxd:

Ahh, what a cool pack! Well done! Would love to see more like these.
If I may give one point of criticism, I think Jaina looks too still during Stand Ready. She should breathe a little. Otherwise, I really like the altered Attack animation. If you'd be fine with it I might even use it for something myself in the future. :thumbs_up:
