versions released after septermber 1 no longer supports plugins like flash and java. youtube and other similar websites will no longer work on google chrome. internet explorer should still work though.

i read the entire article. adobe made flash and they have no connection to google. yahoo mail for example will no longer work. many websites use flash including NRK`s webtv. i simply mentioned youtube because lots of people know of it.

google have dropped support for stuff before but it have remained for a while afterwards. that is likely the case this time as well. when support ends on a technical level however youtube will no longer work in google browsers.

andreasaspenberg YouTube has a HTML player. In fact Microsoft Edge defaults to using the HTML5 player over the flash one. Flash YouTube will be supported for a while still however more and more browsers will not be able to use it (not because they cannot use Flash, but because the HTML player is faster, more efficient, etc).

I would recommend you re-install your OS as the errors you describe with your browser should not happen on a properly installed OS.

He's not actually totally wrong, Chrome autoblocks flash ads as of September the 1st. I've renamed the thread title to make it fit more. I'm sure the youtube thing could just be a misunderstanding.

Maybe if you guys approached this thread a little differently, you would have had better ways to spend the segments of your life wasted posting trivial things here...

HTML5 is by default installed as it is part of the browser engine. When flash is disabled in a compatible browser YouTube will automatically use HTML5.

YouTube explains HTML5 for you here. Older browsers like IE11 with flash installed will default to the flash player rather than HTML5. When flash is not available then it should default to HTML5. Microsoft Edge defaults to HTML5 even though flash is available (and even refuses to use flash for YouTube if you try forcing you to use HTML5).

Your browser (which must not be Chrome as that should work as Google made it and runs YouTube) must not have the appropriate codecs installed for the HTML5 player to work.

i had that installed because another website demanded it but that was just not enough for youtube so i had to install flash. in fact, i had to update flash as the version i had no longer worked with youtube.

andreasaspenberg I think people are getting tired with your continuous problems and inability to listen. I would advise trying to be more open minded and trying what people write, after all they did spend effort trying their best to help you.

If Chrome really is not working you must post on a Google Chrome support forum. Not only would those be frequented by actual developers but you will also have people with experience using Chrome to help you. As THW is a game support site unfortunately most people lack the expertise with Chrome to help you more than we already have.
