Well my map idea is a arena with a small twist- the tist is you get choices at the start and each one gives you both bonus and flaws.

For example you get to chose an elemental god at the start.
the choices are:

Shu, Holder of the Sky
The God Bonuses this unit gets are:
+10% Attack Speed
+15% Movement Speed
+3 Agility
+75 Mana

The God Flaw this unit gets is:
-5 Damage

Geb, Commander of the Earth
The God Bonuses this unit gets are:
+10% Armor
+5 Attack Damage
+1 To All Stats
+100 Life

The God Flaw this unit gets is:
-15% Attack Speed

Osiris, Bringer of Water
The God Bonuses this unit gets are:
+2 Mana per Second
+20 Movement Speed
+3 Intelligence
+150 Mana

The God Flaw this unit gets is:
-1 Life Per Second

Ra, Guardian of the Sun
The God Bonuses this unit gets are:
+15% Attack Damage
+2 Life Per Second
+3 Strength
+100 Life

The God Flaw this unit gets is:
-50% Mana Rejen

You also get to chose things like race which has bonus and flaws and also weapon type which will have better attack and defense vs certain armor and also effect your attack range and attack speed for example a sword can hit faster then a spear but a spear can reach out more. Also you can only hold item weapons of the weapon your unit has. The weapon types so far are:
Attack Type Items that can be used
Blade Swords, Daggers, Axes
Blunt Clubs, Maces, Flail
Polearms Spears, War-scythe, Halberd
Ranged Bows, Crossbows, Throwing Axes/Knifes

So views would help and if you like the sound of it

okay well i think i will add passive ability's that also come with the gods

Shu's Blessing
Gives a 20% chance to do 1.7 times normal damage on an attack.

Geb's Blessing
Gives a 30% chance that an attack will do 40 bonus damage and stun an opponent for 2 seconds.

Osiris' Blessing
30% Splash Damage.

Ra's Blessing
Burns nearby enemy units for 10 points of damage per second.

Do you think they are balanced?

-5 damage or -1 hit point regenerations have just a small effect on later game. You should go -10% damage and -20% hit point regeneration instead of -5 and -1. Also many other things should have been done with %, to make them effective in later game.

I think this is a great idea too. I thought of this independently a long time ago for a defense map, but lost interest. Definitely continue it. You could (sort of like age of mythology) divide it further by including Greek or Norse gods, and giving a very small bonus for the basic religion you choose.
