Chess is an all out battle between two people that revolves around the strength of their mind and a complex array of patterns and logic one must understand if they are to succeed.

For those of you that don't know, I'm a bit of a chess fan. The occassional game every now and then, nothing insanely serious, y'know? But, I do like playing against other humans, instead of AI's; they have a tendency to get boring.

So, I'm just wondering, really, would anyone be interested in setting up a little Chess tournament or a few games with me? There wouldn't be a prize, but you do have the chance to have a shot at a few of your friends, I guess.

well, there's lots of ways. There's internet game servers, like ChessByMessage (which I use a lot) and there's maps in WC3, too.

Whatever everybody fancies, really.

I like playing chess, too.
We could play right here, actually. All chess boards have a grid, as everybody who plays knows, so we could play by posting moves based on grids, with graphics to help everything along. As a matter of fact, that sounds like a fun thing to do.

EDIT:
Yes, we can do this. At this link here (http://ccsinternet.org/games/chess.htm), there is a virtual chess board that two people can play on. People playing a game can post a move here, and we can use screenshots from the site to keep everything from bieng confused.

I know we could do that, using Algebraic Notation for our moves wouldn't be bad. But, the problem with that is that, eventually, we'll end up clogging this thread with responses that are as simple as 'Bxc4+'.

Chess By Message - This isn't a bad site for playing. Me and Devine had a game not so long ago. If anyone's interested, I can put up the game in PGN format and you could view it online.

Any idea when we're starting? We could also post the pic and also include the Algebraic Notation too!

Just FYI, you get an email everytime it's your move. I've accepted the game, and it's your move CyberDuel.

Yeah, I know. I like to get an email, though; sometimes I'm not around enough to check all the time. Your move.

Are any other games being played?
