Chaos Ability Bug

hi , i want to change the hero attack tipe and defense, i try flying machine bombs and the ability of orb items but it didnt work , only work with chaos ability but this duplicate the hero stats life damage and armor, even the first time , the unit increments his stats for the items that have , example the hero have 300 hp and an armor give 200 he have 500 and when the unit change his attack with chaos his new life with out item is 500 and with the item is 700, i want to know if its posible to fix that bug, or my only opcion to change the attack and defense tipe is replace unit ?.

You can use metamorphosis.

Here's a test map. Pick up claws of attack with the paladin that has metamorphosis. You'll see that the attack type will change. Then drop the item. The attack type changes back.
