A small idea i had today, as I dreamed of a well
temperatured place by the sea (cause its *** hot today).
And it really annoys me that there isn´t something to make
a good looking sea-foam.
Anyway still need some things in there for a more vivid
appearance, maybe you could help me...

You helped me, I'll help you.

  1. You could add some small stones to the ground, maybe just basic stones skaled 0,2.
  2. More plants at the rocks or near the sea.
  3. Bubbles and maybe some small fishes.
  4. Ghostship with fog and a thunderstorm arround? Would be epic.. :D
  5. Islands at the skyline.

PS: Don't get me wrong, I like your terrain and the points above are just suggestions. :infl_thumbs_up:

Hey, man, it's pretty good. Maybe if you close the cave it would look more realistic. Try searching for some High Definition Rock Dodaads too. Othar than that, it's really good. I like the water bouncing on the rocks.

Its really good how you made the water look like its crashing against the rocks, really makes it look dynamic.

Maaaaaybe dim the water a bit (not sure its possible on shoreline waves) because I don't think its that blue at night.

Doesn't really need to be changed, the pic is still original, haven't seen any others with that kind of water action :D

Thanks a lot, that was what i had in mind. And about the water im dissatisfied with it cause you can tint it down the way i want (still is too blue).

15 man on a dead mans chest yo ho ho ho and a bottle of rum!! Anyway to get on topic i like it yet it could use more stuff like a ghost ship and a storm. Also i dont really know of those rocks/stones/pillars whatever they are fit with the tiles and so on. Anyway besides that i like it i would give you a DR.House Chocolate cookie but since i already gave you 1 a minute ago in that other thread i cant bake a new one for you :p

Edit: maybe remove 1 or 2 rocks so we could see more of the sea

Looks very realistic! Almost too realistic for a warcraft 3 map terrain. Great job! +rep

Your trying to polish crap with those water effects - sorry but the blizz models for the foam just don't look good nor realistic at all - they simply don't work

That tan rock doesn't strike me as sea cave-ish - that looks more akin to the grand canyon or barrens or something - Imo something gray would work better for the cave walls (also with some more variations)

Sorry but the whole "dead man's chest" concept just seems cheesy and cliche to me.

Yea I know tried my best though: Anyway I am searching for the Ogre Pack, as I am informed right there should be a good foam model. Btw there is no foam blizzard model, just waves. The wave crushing effect at the stones come from a special effect abused for a doodad.
Regarding the rocks I am thinking of tinting them grey, cause in fact they are yellow.
About the "dead man´s chest", I think its a funny idea, but yes indeed its a cliche. Anyway have you seen anything similar like this.....?
I´ve made two versions one with, one without dead man - personally I like the one without more (so it isn´t surprising that the one without is in my showcase).

Well, the foam isnt exactly great, in fact it isnt foam, Ogre simply took the effect that squirts up from waves and made it into a single model, but sure, I guess if you use it correct you might make it look good.

Anyways, about the terrain. Personally I think it looks very.. static, and not very natural. You should work on making your rock formations look like real rock formations, and you should also consider using better rock models in general :p I dont know what it is with people, everyone says that this rock pack from xgm is so awesome, personally I think there's like one or two rocks in that pack that are usable, but NONE that surpass the usability and good looks of the high res Felsen rock and steinlord rock.

In fact, a terrain like this is near impossible to make AND make it look good, I dont even think some of the most experienced terrainers could make such a terrain look very good, there is too much going on in such a terrain. and too little good models usable to illustrate it. So to that end, you probably did a good job.

I do very much like the background though ;)

I'm lazy to read these posts above but, I will give you some fast and good advice for the last updated pic.
-The water that's hitting the rocks, it looks spammed in other words not natural. It looks like some weird alien lights or something, you should reduce it, I mean really reduce it. The waves coming in side of the cave don't look natural to me. You should make shallow water with the Water Doodad, and then put a water wave. Oh and delete that cloud model and put another one, Cloud 3 i think i was, make it a lot more bigger (Scale) and then place it. It is going to be awesome.

Hey thx a lot for your positive replies and if I understood it right there are several things that need to be changed:
-high res rock, with darker tint
-water model instead of "real water"
-reducing of the "splash" water effect
-no waves (or at least only a few)
-the cloud 3 model
Ok, I see the next update will take a few more days,
still reworking a giant map for another project so it will
be a few days more
