This is an idea i had for a map. Although i want to know if its new and refreshing, because i think it is.
This will be an AoS-like map, cliche no? Well not really because your heroes have a more important job then just fighting alongside the troops. Your heroes should escort kodo and horse caravans with gold and lumber to they're deposit places so you're team can afford better defenses and waves. This will be orcs vs humans, and as for caravans the orcs will have kodo and the humans will have horses.
You start by picking a hero (who i hope will all have unique abilities), then when every player has chosen a hero the barricades are down and the first wave is launched. Then the players can co to the caravan master (or something like that) and request to escort a caravan, then a passive unit (or hostile, depends on which team you're on) is sent out to get some gold or lumber whichever you chose to escort. If the horse/kodo survives the way he will pack himself with resources and you will have to escort him back to the deposit.
Teams will have to gather certain amounts of resources to upgrade they're troops and defenses. In the meanwhile you're all nice collecting resources everyone else is doing the same! And you're team camps are still at war, this should create fun battles and enough aciton because you can also raid enemy caravans.

PROBLEM - I don't want the heroes to focus on fighting along side the soldiers in the wave, how do i do this? shall i make them unable to join the fight??
