Building New Abilities

My plan right now is to create a new ability that allows me to reduce Siege damage. I figured I'd use Elune's Grace and modify from there, but I can't seem to figure out how to change the piercing to siege. Is there any way to do this, or to build an ability from the ground up without using huge complex triggers?

I don't think that you can change the ability that it reduce Siege Damage.

But you can give your towers, or attacking units (whatever has siege attacks) and change this attacks to pierce and change the units that has basically pierce damage to siege damage.

Now you can under Advanced > Gameplay Constants and Game Interface everything (damage, icons, damage type text .... )

I can't use your suggestion I'm afraid, Dr. Boom. At current, my damages are already highly modified to prevent teammates from killing themselves. I can always switch damages somehow to spell, pierce, and magic (the three that Elune's does cover) but I think I'll just limit it to the last two and do something else for my third team.
