Buff Question

What makes a buff un-dispellable? Does it have to be associated with an ability that's undispellable like Doom? Or is each buff's un-dispellable-ness hardcoded and an ability can become undispellable if you give them that buff?

I believe the undispelable buffs are created manually with Tornado Slow Aura, a unique ability tailor-made for buff creation. Since the buffs created with it are considered auras, they cannot be dispelled by means such as Purge, Dispel Magic, etc.

It seems to be derived from what ability causes the buff.

Can Tornado Aura Slow show an icon?

@Xonok If that's true then it looks like I'm going to have to use Doom but I don't want its inherent silence effect. If Tornado Aura Slow can't show an icon, is there another way to make a DOT Spell with an undispellable buff?

Slow poison has it, so does shadow strike. And I don't think you can dispel either of them.

Tornado slow aura does not have an icon. That is what makes it perfect for creating buffs since no disabled spell book is required. You can google for PitzerMike's Warcraft ability guide for more information.
