Sin'dorei300: Nice work!

Don't give me any credits.
Edit it if you want.
Lol :P

It looks really good, especially the passive one, great work :)

Because I don't want people to waste time crediting me. If they use one of my icons in their projects they have to go searching everywhere to find my name to credit me. And what for? Nobody ever reads credits anyways.

It's a plus plus side as I see it. I don't lose anything by not being credited, and they don't have to waste time.

Nonsense! For resources this amazing, it would be a travesty not to credit you! I can't help but do so. : )

Great icon, man.

You could say that people who uses the icon doesn't need to credit you but it would be (maybe) appriciated if they did credit you.

Say if someone played a map where your icons are used and wanted to know who made them and maybe wanted to use them for their project or maybe want to contact you for requests / commissions.

I'm certain that this will happen, since you're a really talented artist, Morbent. :>

Ah come on. Who would ever want to find the artist of some icons in a warcraft 3 project. People don't even open the Credits to search for artists in Triple A games :p Artists in projects are usually those who stay in behind and don't get much of the credits. Do you know who was the artist that designed the Clone troopers in Star Wars episode 2 and 3? Or the environment artist for Diablo 2? I have even searched for those and couldn't find it.

Honestly, I don't mind really. There are other, more effective, ways to present your work like a Blog, Deviantart, Portfolio site, etc.

Aight, I'm sorry I nagged on you.

You make a good point... However, the kinds of things going on here aren't giant AAA titles where each individual is lost in a sea of contribution. These are mods; even the biggest of them use maybe a double-handful of artists. I know I look through Credits to find people... And I hope others do for my stuff as well. : )

Hmmm well, you're one of a kind Kyrbi0 :cgrin: Kidding. Yea I guess some people do it.. but.. I still don't want to obligate the person using my icon to credit me. If he wants to, he will, if not, he won't. I'm fine with that.
Mad, there's no reason to... apologise to me. I'm not upset or angry from this discussion, in fact, I was interested to learn what you thought about it.

Neither are coders I guess. Most attention will be going to Producers/Project leaders or any body who's having big-bold title in the credit list.

OT:
5/5 Of course ;) But the "enabled" one is not that good.

I cannot understand this. Why do people prefer this icon to the Enabled one? I always thought that the Enabled one is a whole lot better and that this, in fact, is the worst from all 5 from the contest :X Come on, this one sucks. No atmosphere, no flames, no cool lighting.. at least the Enabled had some bluish cool shit behind it :cgrin:

This hand with the blue flames? Nah, this hand is a whole lot worse since in here I tried to paint the shape (which I failed at, because I do not fully understand shapes yet), where as in the Enabled one I only drew a silhouette of the shape, which may need less skill but turned out better (in my opinion, that is). So if we were to add the blue flames from the Enabled onto this I believe it would look worse... Cuz, we're taking all the bad sides from this icon (The ugly painted hand) and putting them elsewhere.
Something like this:
