Jolly, I can't see the big image you posted, there seems to be some kind of error.

I wanted to see it because with this icon, you actually managed to create distinguished shapes (the elf stands out from the background and features pretty crisp edges), hence I wanted to check if you did something differently.

Also, did you use some sort of reference for the face? Your previous attempts on faces were not nearly as good as this one.
 
Yeah, I just checked it out on dA.

Now I see that you made her stand out with a black line, creating a shadow that is hardly visible on the icon, yet will emboss it. Well done!

You should add some shading to the lower part of her neck, to make it look like it's beneath all that hair.

Nothing else to add, besides that I'd like to know if you used a reference or not. :)
