For color smoothness you mentioned, you will need pure white, or really bright red, and also dark red. Then use the transmission of your brushes in opacity to shade everything in between. Also, what is that hourglass in the middle of bubble?
To make an orb, you will probably need an element, and I don't see why a gloss ball has to do anything with Chrono.

You made one good icon, stop putting down the noobs, you sucked ass at 2D art at one point, and right now you're not the beastliest artist on THW, stop being so mean.

The icon overall is actually pretty good, I love the highlights, but you need some heavier shading to make it look round, and make the hourglass really bright so you can see it better and it stands out, maybe a bright blue.
