Blood Elf is a demon?! Dreadlord? Doom Guard?..

While browsing the .mpq files I just noticed that Frozen Throne Human Campaign model with the Blood Elf had strange feet, was this made on purpose?

I heard some speculation that in the alpha version of the Frozen Throne expansion pack, Blood Elves were half-hybrids with the demons due to the magic lust and the hunger for power. I guess the magic sources other than Sunwell had led them to feeding on the demonic energies that slowly turned them.

Basically Blood Elves had no other magic sources since Arthas tainted the Sunwell. They had to turn to the "nether" or Fel magic.

It would have been so cool to play as half-demon hybrids..

Since the texture file is butchered from the early(?) WOW dreadlord texture this is an oversight of the developer I guess.

The texture can contain unused textures, but the feet of a demon (Dreadlord) were used in the process of making the campaign screen Blood Elf mesh. I don't think this is an oversight since the modeler clearly modeled it piece by piece.

Well it would have been better since half way through Blood Elf campaign, blood elves lose spotlight and are just minions to the great Addict lord. Now if campaign was to show to slow descent of elves from high elves to demonic slaves it would have made a better story. Instead the only demon elves we get are the "felblood" elves that have fairy wings, horns and skin condition.

But honestly that is barely even speculation, if they really were going to make half demon elves wouldn't they make more obvious alterations besides feet?
