That depends, they do have to get some income from a source or another in order to continue upgrading the game, so yeah, I'm sure Blizzard would think of a way.
But still, Warcraft III is popular enough to sustain itself even if it's paid for (Like now).
Well, if you aren't a pirate or somebody you likes breaking the rules, you'd be buying it like good people would.
But anyways, whatever the game might be, as long as Blizzard is involved, it's bound to be a success in the later parts of its life.
