Blender problem

OK this sounds really weird and maybe i cant see it but its not there.
I was reading a tutorial , they wanted me to apply sub surf in mesh , but i got in the mesh no sub surf , i saw there in the tutorial a picture showing what to do where is it all , it looks different than at me.

Im a begginer at 3D Graphics , but i cant find a solution for this...

The tutorial is either older/newer.

Or you have an older/newer version.

Maybe you can change the interface?
