Arthas Human to Undead

I played warcraft 3 campaign like 1000 times and the thing i didn't get is how Arthas turned to undead? Tichondrius said that Arthas' spirit was the first spirit taken by frostmourne after Arthas claimed it. The question is, was Arthas killed by the alliance after he murdured his father and resurrected as an undead or that the lich king just turned him from Human to undead through Frostmourne?

I had that question a while back too. I think the explanation is that Frostmourne has consumed him and stripped him of his sanity. From the trivia section:

- Although Arthas is marked as undead in various sources, it has been confimed by Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasiabi that actually he never died[17] (at least prior to becoming the Lich King and removing his heart). His undead state in Warcraft III may have instead referred to the fact that Frostmourne had stolen his soul.

It's simple, the campaign was the undead campaign so they set him to undead classification... hahahahahahahahaha...

I guess it's the same with necromancers in WC3, they're probably not dead too, yet they're still classified as undead

as for Arthas, I do believe that he was human until the moment that he wore the helmet of Ner'zhul... and he was just undead because the race was undead... XD

When he became the Lich King he ripped out his heart for some reason. As far as I know humans can't live without a heart.
