I am currently designing a couple of heroes (Archmage Modera and Captain Ironhill) for a campaign I am working on. Later I want to figure out how to use sound files from WoW in Warcraft 3 so that they can sound unique. Archmage Modera obviously specifically has sound files for her as she is a mage order hall follower and I am sure I can find something good for Captain Ironhill.
But right now I just want to figure out their models and their spells.
I think I have Archmage Modera mostly figured out. I know I have seen a lot of variations of Jaina's model so I am fairly confident I can find one of those easily and just use that. For her spells I was thinking making her a pure arcane mage would be an interesting change from the standard frost spec archmage.
Arcane Missles: single target damage which is channeled. I think I can probably create this by making a version of drain life with higher damage output, a different graphic, and no health return.
Polymorph: This one I think will be easy. Copy hex and change the critter form into a sheep.
Arcane Barrier: like mana shield but instead of draining mana it just has a cast cost and a cooldown.
For the ultimate I think Mass Teleport still fits.
For Captain Ironhill I was thinking a rifleman dwarf hero as opposed to just making him another Mountain King. That's my first idea anyway. I'd like to make him something cool.
So far my ideas for his basic abilities are:
Grenade/bomb: either a aoe damage or maybe something like a smoke bomb which makes enemies miss their attacks. Like the Dragonhawk Rider cloud spell but not channeled and works on units instead of towers.
Armor Piercing Rounds: basically just like searing arrows but with a different graphic.
Trueshot Aura: same.
I have no idea what to do for his ultimate.
