ArcaneBeam_Rain

Two purple beams rotating at the center, creating arcane energy. After a short moment, the arcane energy explodes which causes a crater at the center.

Works with blizzard spell

Updates:
September 15, 2011 11:02pm (GMT + 8) - Rearranged particles appearance and changed the explosion scaling slightly
September 17, 2011 8:29am (GMT + 8) - Changed the texture of the beams and E_Smoke particle. Beams are now "wilder"

beams look too perfect. That way they should only cut or burn. Since this is explosion you should make the beams more "wild". Because only unstable things explode. Also you should not use shockwave texture like particles. the main reason is that there are no hollow particles in reality.( I could have written: Great job man 5/5, but I think that constructive comments are better.)

Well I'll try to make the beams look wilder but about the shockwave particles... I purposely used the texture because it doesn't meant to be "real" since I've never seen an arcane explosion in my life before. This is also the reason why I love to make effects because it's appearance doesn't have to fit with the "reality". If you make every effects based on reality appearance or logic, then there'll be no space for imagination anymore. (Sorry for my bad english)

8.5/10 wish u could of made one without the warstomp effect but then again i prolly could just remove it, permission to do so?

if I wanted no reply or complete obedience I would make something myself. I am giving sugestions that are just my point of view. I am not getting insulted if you disagree. And now I have to disagree with you. Particles have to fit reality. You cant make fireball and make sheeps as particles. Also particle is emmiting from the center. if there is no center, that defies laws of energy cycle. now shockwave is not a particle. it is a field of rippling force which we represent with cool textures. But in this case arcane is an energy and has to abide by rules of pysics. as for wilder rays make something spontaneous, maybe add spining particles around beams or add Texture animations and you know what else. Same goes with your rain(water bolt) you use shockwaves for water particles which just does not look like the natural way for water to fall.

The game itself does not fit reality. If you model something based on the knowledge of reality, then "creativity" will not able to grow further. "Creativity" is what makes something unique, something that is unusual, weirder, different than the common. I also love to make certain effects to become "strange" or "weird" because the Hive lacks that part.

So I would still disagree. However I accept that the beams should be changed so I'll try your suggestion about it. (Sorry for my bad english)

Game originaly meant hunt. So you can make "weird" models as you put it, but you are wrong. Your models are not weird. They are awesome. They just have that slight element of unnecessary surreality. Do not get me wrong, I only comment on models and effects I deem worthy.

Edit: You have improved your model a lot.(But ofcourse you can see that yourself). 5/5
