I was just wondering how to alpha out part of skins using photoshop 7. I've seen people do it before. I've tried several tools, but it just leaves the cleared areas of the model white in-game.

then get your skin into photoshop. in my case the millitia.
then make sure the lock transparrent pixel button isn't pressed. as number 1 shows. then use the eraser tool (the color u use has no effect).
then use the eraser tool to alpha out what u want (in my case the sheild. when u erase it must not turn white or black or any other color, it must be the white and gray squares behind the skin.
i hope this helpes!!!
if u have any other questions just ask i will gladly help.....
Thank you veery much Cool_raider for taking taking your time to do this. I appreciate it a lot. I think I know what I was doing wrong...I was using the eraser on a .jpg format skin...I didnt know it had to be in .tga while editing.
