I suggest you add some thickness to all your shield models, right now they look like paper... It won't cost you that many polies.
Also you should probably rotate them by 90 degrees, so it will be properly held by the unit models (take a look at other shield attachments).
Otherwise, neat idea :3

They are rotated, I remember uploading left and right versions.

Good work, thanks for uploading the right as well. So annoying when others don't.
Since the villager attacks with his left, its disturbing to see him attacking with a shield instead of a sword.
