Alerts not received.

So, I haven't been getting alerts from some threads which I watch, I only get alerts from them if I visit myself. I didn't check an alert from a thread once and I never got one again until I went to the thread, only then did I get alerts from it, then it stopped again.

(If there is already a thread like this, please just delete it, I haven't seen another but still.)

It seems like you only get an alert if you have visited the thread within x days.

So, if I get an alert but do not click on the thread I will eventually not get any alerts.
I may be wrong but that's how it seems to work.

I don't even get to see that when I check.
I don't see new alerts there

You get one alert every time a thread goes from read to unread. You will not get spammed. That's how alerts work. Don't depend 100% on alerts, you should use Watched Threads too.

How about this chieftain,
All alerts I get from a campaign development thread, I visit, I still had an unread one with no alert, I checked the date of the post, and found nothing in my alerts.

I didn't write this system. The XenForo developers did. I don't think it needs much change to be honest.
