Afterlife

Introduction:

Hello, everyone! Before I start off, I want to mention that this is the first map I have posted (created one or two earlier, but they were far from this size and were never posted), but don't judge the map based on that but on the actual quality.

Afterlife is a map inspired by War Chasers and To Tame a Land, with influences from the Zelda games as well.

Attached is the map itself in its current version, as well as the interlude cinematic to it (you should view it in order to understand the event that put the main characters in their situation, no spoilers!).

Summary:

An RPG for coop using two players or singleplayer. Each player controlls a hero, or one player controlls both. Along the path through the Underworld bosses and their minions await to hinder your progress.

Features:

- A 2-3 hour RPG experience.
- Both singleplayer and coop (two players).
- An arena with mini-games and challenges (both single player and two players)
- An area for training on using your spells and skills
- Several bosses
- Choice between Normal of Hard mode
- Choice between having infinite lives or a finite number, adding a level of challenge

Info:

The map (and later on campaign) features two player gameplay (with triggers to give the second player control if one player leaves the game, or control over both sides instantly if singleplayer), as well as custom triggered GUI spells, custom items, a large world to explore, cinematics and bosses with triggered spells and dangerous abilities.

I have put quite a lot of time and effort into this map, over a time span of around 2 years now. Work has mostly consisted of finding an inspirational node, working untill I burn myself out, and then take a break from it.

Team:

The Druidinator

Progress:

Terrain: 100 %
Triggers: 95 %
Spells: 100 %
Cinematics: 100 %
Items: 65 %

Known issues:

- Sometimes when you load a saved game, most special effects cease to appear. Reloading helps most of the time, but I don't know how to solve this permanently. Help would be appreciated.

- When a unit is created or changes owner, it might be ordered by the AI controlling it to to go a certain point on the map, ignoring foes and/or just walking into a wall.

- A puzzle involving a set of elevators is only useable once. After that, the elevator walls seem to "freeze" in a closed state. There is a lever to remedy this problem, but I want a solution instead of a bypass.

Changelog:
Nothing so far.

Screenshots:
More to be uploaded once I wrap my head around the print screening and image posting again, gotten rusty.

More screenshots will be added later on.

Now if you've read this far down, I congratulate you. I need to include that I at the moment and pretty burned out on WC3 editing, but I will to the best of my ability try and fix bugs and problems that appear, as well as responding to feedback here. But, as World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is hitting the 7th, I will be sucked right back in, which will consume most if not all my spare time.

I uploaded a few new screen shots of the map now, showing a few of the areas. When I use the Image button it asks for an url though, so I'm not 100 % sure how that works. Thus, I have them uploaded as simple attachments, which should work for the moment.

Not to bother you, but there is a map called Afterlife already...it's a Zombie shooter.

Ah yes, I am aware of that. But as I really liked the name I picked (not knowing of the other map), so I wouldn't want to change it. The name of the map itself is the Underworld though, with Afterlife being the name of, well, call it the "franchise".
