On the adobe site it says it would only take a minute or two to install flash player 10 with a 56k modem.

The only thing is that it doesn't install for me at all, the page would ony install for ages.

Wtf?

Remove / uninstall all flash players your browser currently has plugged into it. Then try installing again. Give it an hour odd runnin in the background while you do something else and with luck it will work.
