not true, i looked at both skins, the 60 kb and 700 kb and they are absolutly the same!
i really dont get it why people should put 700 kb skins in their maps especially if its for bnet.

also those flame textures, the model looks the same with and without them, well atleast in war3viewer.

TToR isn't a map, but it is for battle.net

Rightfield can therefore have a several megabyte skin in there if he wants

You can't see the flame skins in WC3Viewer cause WC3Viewer sucks and doesn't correctly display animated textures. Don't believe me? Look at the Water Elemental

Anywho, I like

It is true. Don't come here and think you know more about wc3 modelling than I do. If you have an eye for detail you notice the difference. Also, who said you want to use it in a battle.net map? Ever heard of campaigns? There are people who want quality instead of quanity which is the reason I keep the texture at full quality in case anyone wants it that way. If you hate the size so much convert it yourself and stop whining already. Also the flame texture is used on the tail part for a bit more fancy effect as well as in the death animation to get a Doom 3 demon dissapate feeling to it's death. 700 kb isn't that much if you got a good connection. And if you don't you shouldn't be playing online games anyway. :p

Also, the art tools got a default blp quality setting for converting, and I won't open it up and convert it down again because then I lose the mipmapping. (Which I doubt you've ever heard of)

After a closer look, I do think you could have made the front legs a bit bigger. It sorta looks like that, if it moved, it would just flop on its stomach cause of the front legs. And of corse the head is a bit squarish, a few more polys there wouldn't go to waste

hah... i don't think he was talking about the download of battlenet... do you know that there is a limit for the size of the maps that can be hosted on bnet??? don't think so... cuz if you use a 700kb skin it takes lots of spaces that could be used for other things... the limit is something like 2.5 mb i think.. or 3... dun remember now... but it takes at least almost 1/3 of the map size limit
